Robotic Integration

Adding robotics to a production line can be exciting and, at times, intimidating for manufacturers. Every operation is different, with its own risks, limitations and production challenges. Successfully navigating those variables requires more than just advanced technology. It requires strategic alignment between your existing workflow and the capabilities of custom-built machinery and workholding fixtures.

When implemented correctly, custom industrial solutions can deliver measurable improvements in productivity, consistency, safety and long-term scalability.

Key Benefits of Industrial Robot Integration

Integrating robotics into a production line can improve product consistency and increase productivity while creating greater flexibility, scalability and safety throughout an operation.

Enhanced Productivity

Custom robotic integration helps manufacturers do more with the resources they already have. Automated systems can increase throughput, reduce downtime and help production stay on schedule.

Improved Consistency and Quality

Industrial robotics and computer-integrated manufacturing enable precise, repeatable movements, ensuring every cycle is completed with the same force, speed and positioning. This level of repeatability can significantly reduce scrap rates while helping high-precision components consistently meet required tolerances and compliance standards.

Better Safety and Ergonomics

Custom industrial machines and workholding fixtures can be engineered to perform strenuous or hazardous tasks. For example, robotic systems can be designed to handle heavy lifting or work around heat, chemicals and sharp tools, helping create a safer environment while reducing physical strain on employees.

Scalability for Future Growth

Custom robotic integration provides a foundation that can evolve with changing production requirements. Systems can be reconfigured or reprogrammed to support new tasks, higher output levels or future process changes.

Steps for Successful Integration

New Ulm Precision Tool, a division of The Specialty Mfg. Co., has extensive experience manufacturing custom industrial machines and workholding fixtures for a wide range of applications. Over time, we have expanded our capabilities to include custom robotic integration, allowing us to deliver tailored solutions that simplify production processes and support scalable, repeatable operations.

The key to successful robotic integration is ensuring every design supports application-specific production goals. Important steps in that process include:

  • Understanding Process Needs
    • We begin by evaluating how your operation currently functions and identifying where custom-built solutions with robotic integration can improve efficiency, consistency and output.
  • Confirming the Design Meets Customer Specifications
    • We build machines with robotic systems based on the unique requirements of each application. Maintenance and accessibility considerations are incorporated into the machine design from the beginning.
  • Choosing the Right Robotic Technology
    • The right solution depends on payload, precision, reach, speed and environmental factors. Our experience allows us to recommend technology that aligns with your technical requirements and provides long-term reliability.
  • Testing, Validation and Support
    • Every system is thoroughly tested before delivery to verify performance, repeatability and safety. We also provide the training and support your team needs to feel confident from day one.

New nylon suction strainers are available immediately. Suction strainers provide protection in liquid or air applications by trapping debris before it can enter and damage downstream system components. Many popular sizes can ship next day. Specialty Manufacturing Company suction strainers – also commonly referred to as sump strainers – feature type 304 stainless steel mesh sizes from 4 to 100 with a 1/8″ to 3″ Nylon NPT base. These strainers are rated for continuous use up to 200°F, and custom mesh sizes are available. CAD models and product drawings for the complete offering.
