Position:    Sales Manager
Shift:          1st Shift
Location:   The Specialty Mfg. Co. – White Bear Lake, MN

Position Description:

The Sales Manager will manage and perform all daily sales functions, including managing new inquiries, managing projects, and managing accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Not limited to the following)

  • Sells to new and existing customer accounts.
  • Works directly with customer’s Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing groups to develop and service accounts in assigned territories.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and promotes products and appropriate solutions.
  • Prepares and submits timely quotations to our customers. Inquiries may require simple verbal quotations or may involve extensive technical documents supplied to the customer.
  • Maintains correspondence and quotation files.
  • Interacts with other internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service) to ensure the proper handling of customer needs.
  • Identifies new markets where The Specialty Mfg. Co. lacks coverage and identify potential new applications / products in existing markets.
  • Participates in planning and formation of The Specialty Mfg. Co. marketing and sales strategy
  • Assists in coordinating monthly performance spreadsheets, marketing promotions, literature, and competitive information.
  • Travel as needed for customer meetings.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong Technical aptitude and experience in machining, injection molding, metal stamping and grinding preferred
  • Ability to read Blueprints
  • Solid organizational, mathematical, and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong social skills, ability to interact with employees and customers and vendors

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiences in sales and marketing required
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience
  • Preferred manufacturing experience
