Position: Punch Press Operator
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Location: The Specialty Mfg. Co. – White Bear Lake, MN
Position Description:
- To run punch presses, press brakes, spot welders, grinders, and auxiliary equipment.
- Nonexempt position that reports to Production Manager.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour / DOQ

Duties and Responsibilities: (Not limited to the following)
- Verify operations to be performed and material to be used on each job as directed by documentation or supervisor.
- Operate machines and produces consistent quality parts to specifications in the time frame allowed.
- Use measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for quality. Responsible for adherence to 1st Articles and Quality Plans.
- Use hand tools, grinders, abrasives and other tools required to complete all assemblies and operations.
- Accurately completes all required paperwork during and at the completion of job.
- Maintain a safe work area.
- Maintain a clean work area consistent with our 5S requirements.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Operation of all types of Punch Presses and auxiliary equipment in a job shop environment.
- Understand metric measurements
- Measuring devices and inspection equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Factory Environment
- Work on a variety of punch presses, press brakes and related equipment
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
- Work must be performed on site during normal SMC business hours
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Punch Press job shop or equivalent fabrication experience
