Position:     Maintenance Technician
Shift:            1st Shift (M-F 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
Location:     The Specialty Mfg. Co. – White Bear Lake, MN

Position Description:

The purpose of this position is to perform the maintenance, repair and installation of the equipment which are part of the buildings, material handling and grounds.  This is a nonexempt position that works under the limited direction of Facilities Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnose and repair problems with all building and production equipment.
• Design and build equipment to assist in maintenance and repair.
• Perform all required preventative maintenance on production and building equipment.
• Perform other facility maintenance duties as required.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Three to four years’ experience in mechanical maintenance function.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical and electrical problems
• Ability to operate hand tools, lathe, drill press, air tools, sweeper, lawn mower, forklifts, and driveable man-lift
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics
• Ability to relate to people and their equipment problems
• Ability to perform welding, pipe fitting, carpentry and electrical duties
• Working knowledge of HVAC a plus
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Strong written and communication skills
• Basic PC skills.
