Position:      Production Scheduler
Shift:            1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Location:     The Specialty Mfg. Co. – White Bear Lake, MN

Position Description:

The Production Scheduler will plan and organize stages of production control for producing product to meet the customer requirements and 95% on-time delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Not limited to the following)

  • Plan and organize the production schedule for all St. Paul manufacturing sites.
  • Establish floor priorities to optimize floor resources and efficiencies.
  • Run daily production meetings within manufacturing areas.
  • Provide backup support of planning activities to area manager.
  • Plan and organize the building of sub-assemblies and units.
  • Update weekly backlog reports.
  • Define and communicate capacity of each area.
  • Collaborate with appropriate areas to resolve cost, quality, delivery, and material issues.
  • Work with Supply Chain to monitor and analyze inventory along with aid in ordering/scheduling raw stock .
  • Create and maintain Vendor Service purchase orders to approved vendors.
  • Communicate with approved vendors to meet established schedule.
  • Communicate delivery requests to Customer Service in a timely fashion and lead time obtainment for non-standard items.
  • Work with QA and Purchasing on any nonconforming vendor service.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to work across all functions of manufacturing and office.
  • Self-starter must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • APICS Certification desired
