Design Considerations
The SMC Dual Shutoff design promotes multiple configurations to fit the exact end use application. Shutoffs are inexpensive Female Garden Hose to Male Garden Hose valves designed for outdoor use. The #235 and #265 "Y" configurations are dual valves with a common Female Garden Hose inlet and two independent Male Garden Hose outlets. Shutoffs are designed for city water pressure to a maximum of 80 psi. Shutoffs will only support flow and pressure in one direction and require approximately 20 psi of water pressure to seal in the closed position. The #375 and #385 Connectors are a "Y" with no valves.
