Position:    Assembly Production Supervisor
Shift:          1st Shift
Location:   The Specialty Mfg. Co. – White Bear Lake, MN

Position Description:

• Ensure production schedule adherence while meeting quality, cost, and safety goals.
• Works under direction from the Plant Manager to facilitate planning, organizing, and scheduling of work assignments.
• Non-exempt position that reports to the Plant Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Not limited to the following)

• Work with the Production Manager to execute the master schedule; provide input to the master scheduler concerning line capacities
• Provide input with hiring, performance, and appraisal decisions
• Foster continuous improvement mentality among the team
• Coach individuals and teams towards self-direction and build strong relationships that foster trust and accountability
• Coach, mentor, and train individuals to successfully achieve cross-training goals
• Fill in for all Lead and Assembly positions when necessary
• Must be able to fill in for the Production Manager when necessary
• Monitor in-process quality and notify Production Manager of non-conforming parts
• Any other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Knowledgeable in all aspects of assembly
• Skill in blueprint reading and interpretation
• Mature interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Proven management skills in staffing

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Post-secondary education strongly preferred, with preference for education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
• 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
